Spanning a versatile and long-reaching focal length range, the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 for Nikon F is a 4x zoom lens covering telephoto to super telephoto perspectives. Complementing its extensive reach is an optimized optical design featuring three low dispersion (LD) glass elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing throughout the zoom range. eBAND and BBAR coatings have also been applied to minimize ghosting and flare when working in strong, backlit lighting conditions.

Beyond its optical attributes, the G2 version of this lens incorporates a FLEX ZOOM LOCK mechanism, allowing you to lock the zoom position at any focal length to prevent accidental zoom extension. It also features a conventional zoom lock to prevent barrel extension during transport. Suiting handheld shooting situations, the Vibration Compensation (VC) is a 4.5-stop-effective image stabilization mechanism that helps to reduce the appearance of camera shake for sharper results when working with slower shutter speeds. A ring-type Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD) autofocus motor delivers notably quick and accurate focusing performance, ideal for capturing fast-moving subjects, with full-time manual focus also supported for fine-tuned control. Benefitting its use outdoors, the lens features a moisture-resistant construction along with a fluorine-coated front element to guard against dirt, dust, moisture, and smudging. The ergonomic and durable metal construction also incorporates textured focus and zoom rings, and a removable, rotating tripod collar with an Arca-type compatible foot is supplied for better support when shooting from tripods or monopods.

This versatile, long-reaching telephoto to super-telephoto zoom is designed for FX-format Nikon F-mount cameras but can also be used with DX models, providing a 225-900mm equivalent focal length range. The lens includes three low dispersion elements that nearly eliminate both axial and transverse chromatic aberrations and color fringing for increased clarity and color fidelity throughout the zoom range. eBAND and BBAR coatings help suppress ghosting and lens flare for improved contrast in backlit conditions. VC image stabilization minimizes the appearance of camera shake by up to 4.5 stops, making it more effective for handheld shooting in difficult lighting conditions. Three separate VC modes are available: Mode 1 provides a balanced setting for general use, stabilizing both the viewfinder image and the results; Mode 2 is designed for panning movements; and Mode 3 stabilizes only during capture without affecting the viewfinder image.

The ring-type USD autofocus motor delivers quick and precise focusing performance, suitable for moving subjects, and offers full-time manual focus control. The FLEX ZOOM LOCK mechanism allows you to lock the zoom at any position to prevent unwanted extension, while a conventional zoom lock switch secures the zoom at the 150mm position during transportation.
